Welcome back Soul Beauties,
I wanted to talk about how to balance your root chakra (Muldahara in Sanskrit) , which is the first of the 7 main energetic chakras in the body. Keep in mind that there are more than 7 chakras located outside the physical body and that the root chakra is the lowest in the base of the spine. The color association reflect variations of reds from deep burgundy to bright red, depending on the aura of the individual and the imbalance of the energy field. By balancing the lower chakras, we are able to truly work on the top ones, so it is important to start with aligning the root chakra.

Turning off your Fight or Flight response is vital for the next steps to take place, because we must regulate the nervous system to not be hyperactive, which leads to relaxation. We truly cannot relax, or feel safe in our bodies in a heightened state of fear and stress. Because many of us live in a state of constant stimulation (i.e big cities, constant use of technology, daily life stressors, trauma, even the media we consume), this triggers our flight or fight response to go into hyperdrive, causing exhaustion and burnout. You can work off turning off your flight or fight response by pulling from any one of these suggestions:
Movement is a great source to bring you into physical presence within the body. Not only is it a great way to burn off energy, it also removes stagnant blockages that can accumulate and cause anxiety and stress. Walking in a nature, especially barefooted, relies on the negative ions of the ground to charge our energy center, and really grounds us. You can also wrap your arms around/rest on the trunk of a tree as you sungaze.
Reprogramming your belief system goes hand in hand with shadow work. We must really dive into why we think the way we think. Most of our belief systems are passed on to us through ancestral tribal roots first (your family, community, first friends) then secondly through outside experiences (i.e, relationships, education institutions, multimedia consumption). We must first ask ourselves if we truly believe in our thoughts and ideas we've learned along the way. If we do not, we must ask the questions to see why are we still keeping these ideas and beliefs alive. Through the power of thoughts, we are willingly giving away power from our root chakra when we embody principles that do not sit well with our true essence, our soul. Shadowing is challenging because you will start to realize a lot of things about yourself, your family, your environment and so much more. Use this time to process your emotions and feelings. By doing this work, we choose to heal, and we can show up as our higher self and attract/build conscious communities.
Carl Jung gave us the concept of having a shadow shelf, the part of us that we keep to ourselves. They consist of our fears, our regrets, "skeletons in the closet" and dark parts of ourselves that we associate with weakness or emotions such as sadness and anger. We choose to suppress and mask this side of ourselves to the public. However, by embodying these aspects ourselves, we can truly embrace that we all have duality within us. There cannot be light without the darkness, and when we truly balance this, we can be whole. Through journaling and even meditation, we are able to tap into these parts of ourselves and truly work on them. You may even want to connect with a mental health professional to help process trauma or use alternative modalities such as guided meditations, crystal therapy, reiki, somatic therapy, and support groups and programs.
Our root chakra is connected rectal organs and adrenal glands, so purification of the blood and organs are vital to having health regulation of the body. Fasting and juice cleansing periodically for 2-3 days can restart the body's detoxification to remove impurities that may cause energy blockages, fatigue, brain fog, and much more. When done with fasting, be slow to incorporate heavy starches and animal based proteins. Protein digestion is slow process for the body, so consuming protein can also aid in the getting you grounded.
Radiation and EMF (Electromagnetic Frequencies) emitted from WiFi devices, your cellphone, computers, and even televisions can through off your balance, leaving you with symptoms such as fatigue and irritability, brain fog, lack of presence in your body, and lack of coordination. Power off your devices when done, or put on "Airplane mode", and keep 6 or more feet away from you when sleeping, so that they do not disturb your energy field.
Here are also some books to dive into that will aid in connecting you to your root chakra!

The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter & Miracles by Dr. Bruce Lipton
A Little Bit of Auras - Cassandra Eason

Much love,
Joscelyn
