Using Full Moon Energy To Work and Release Your Fears - Full Moon Release Ritual Inside!

Greetings and salutations,

I hope this article finds you in your time of need! Full Moons are powerful energies to utilize to not only for manifestations and new beginnings, but also to release what no longer serves you. They occur once a month, and symbolize cycle completion and fruition. Today's Hunters Moon gets its name from the Native American people who would used the Moon to hunt and harvest in preparation for winter. Hunters Moon encourages you to go seek out your dreams.

I wanted to touch on the subject of shadow selves and shadow work because I feel like although this concept has been around for many years, there are people new to the game, working on reprogramming their belief systems without even realizing their doing the work. If you are new to the term "Shadow Work", the premise of this concept is the duality of the soul has both light and dark tendencies. While we tend to focus on the positive sides of the spiritual community, (i.e: "Love and Light", "Positive Vibes only", etc), there is just as much important information embedded in our subconscious thoughts, our coping mechanisms, and negative thoughts and criticisms. We must acknowledge these pieces of information when they arise as they give us deeper analysis of who we truly are.

Here's a quick full moon release ritual to identifying your shadow self and releasing old programming:

You will need:

  1. A pen

  2. Some paper

  3. 1 white chime candle. (Soy candles are nontoxic compared to paraffin wax, however feel free to use whatever material)

  4. A fire-proof container (A cauldron is fine. If you do not have either, concrete or brick is fine.)*

  5. A grounding stone. I prefer black obsidian, black tourmaline, or amethyst.

Activity:

  1. Take a piece of paper, and a pen.

  2. Find a comfortable place in your house. If you would like to be in direct contact with the Full Moon, align yourself underneath the moonlight directly by being near a window or going outside - you will still harness the energy regardless.

  3. Carve your name into the white candle with a sharp object.

  4. On a piece of paper, write down all negative beliefs, thoughts, fears, feelings about yourself and what you do not like about others.

  5. Embrace the feelings that come up whenever you write down these things. Ask yourself if these thoughts and beliefs are what you truly embody. Are these someone else's beliefs about you? What feelings come up when you identify these thoughts?

  6. After you are done writing your list. Fold up the paper into a square.

  7. Ground yourself by taking a few deep breaths and holding your chosen crystal in your hand. Close your eyes while taking a few more deep breaths and envision a blue light of protection covering your whole body. Let this light wash over your body, as this is the light of Archangel Michael shielding you.

  8. Ask Michael to dissolve the feelings attached to your shadow self and repeat to yourself "I release all limited beliefs, fears, thoughts, oaths and contracts keeping me stagnant."

  9. Light your paper with your list on fire and place in fireproof container*.

  10. Feel yourself releasing your feelings of stagnant energies as you watch your paper and candle burnout.

When we are exploring our shadow selves, it is super important to note what feelings arise as we get to know the parts of ourselves we despise or repress within. Shadow work is never easy, but we must remember to be gentle with ourselves and allow the emotions that arise to make themselves be known and felt in order to be understood and then released. Healing is not a linear process, so please feel free to come back to this article whenever you need to. I fully support you on your healing journey.

Best,

Joscelyn
